Saturday Snapshot
I have been thinking a lot about gardens recently. We had raised beds put into what had been a useless bank (covered with weeds) on one side of our house several years ago and this fall are having a similar set of beds put into the bank along our driveway. There are about a million more spaces for plants to go in than I had pictured there would be so this has required a lot of thought about plants and gardens.
This photo was taken at the Japanese Tea Garden in San Francisco in June 2014. I love the clump of purple iris coming out of the pond and the way the tree reflects in the water. Our new gardens, or the old ones for that matter, look nothing like this.

ReplyDeleteLovely photo. Such a tranquil scene. Enjoy creating your new gardens. I'm looking forward to pictures!
ReplyDeleteHere are my Saturday Snapshots.
Would love to see that Japanese Garden. We once visited one in Ostend, in Belgium, and it was really beautiful, but it would take a lot of time to create anything similar. My Snapshot is at http://chriscross53.blogspot.co.uk/2014/11/recreating-medieval-abbey.html
ReplyDeleteBut what great inspiration! We can always dream can't we!
ReplyDeleteI love those irises- I don't think I've ever seen them growing out of water like that.
